Reiki is a gentle, non-invasive energy healing technique, originating from Japan, that supports the body’s natural ability to heal itself. It works holistically — on the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual levels — to restore balance and promote overall wellbeing.

Each Reiki session is unique to the individual client but during a standard Reiki session the client lies on a treatment table (fully clothed) while the practitioner places their hands lightly on or just above specific areas of the body. You may feel warmth, tingling, or deep relaxation — or simply a sense of peace. Many clients enter a meditative, restful state.

No — Reiki does not depend on belief, religion, or spiritual background. It works regardless of your beliefs, as it connects to the body's natural energetic system. Being open to the experience can enhance the effects however, but it is not required.

Whilst Reiki is not a medical treatment, it is a complementary therapy that helps reduce stress, improve sleep, ease pain and discomfort, harmonise and balance the nervous system, and promote emotional clarity - thus deeply supporting positive conditions for healing. Many clients seek Reiki alongside other wellness or medical treatments.

This depends on your goals and needs. Some people come for a one-time experience of deep relaxation, while others benefit from regular sessions to support ongoing healing, emotional release, stress management, past trauma or addicitions.

Absolutely. Reiki complements many forms of healing, including massage, counselling, physiotherapy, and conventional medicine. It often enhances the effects of other treatments by supporting emotional balance and relaxation.

Yes, Reiki is safe and gentle for pregnancy and can be a beautiful way to support relaxation, reduce stress, and connect with your baby. If you’re pregnant, please let me know in advance so we can tailor the session to your comfort.

No prior experience or qualifications are needed if taking my Reiki Level 1&2 training. All you need is a genuine interest in energy healing, an open heart and mind, and a willingness to learn. These qualities create the ideal foundation for beginning your Reiki journey.

My courses are designed to ensure that students leave feeling confident and grounded in their ability to practise Reiki — both for themselves and for others. For this reason, Reiki 1 and 2 are usually offered together as a seven-day residential course. Studying both levels in this way allows time for deeper integration, continuity of learning, and plenty of real-time practice under my guidance.

For those who live locally, or who are visiting for a shorter period, it is also possible to take the beginner levels separately. Reiki 1 can be completed first, with the option to return for Reiki 2 at a later date when it feels right.
